Sheridan High School
Updated: March 20, 2020
Because of the ongoing state response to the COVID-19 pandemic, all Colorado schools have been closed through Friday, April 17, 2020. It is quite likely that Colorado will follow other states and keep schools closed for the rest of the school 2019-2020 school year
The success of the Alumni Band relates directly to support from the high school and the school district including the possible use of facilities and instruments. As such we are delaying this project until later in the year. For those interested, please continue to submit the registration form and we will follow up with you later this fall.
Several alumni have expressed an interest in forming an alumni band. A alumni band orginizing group has been established and meets monthly.Rehersals are scheduled to begin in June, 2020 with the first performance scheduled for August 2, 2020.
The purpose of the band is to:
Provide an opportunity for to alumni to network with former band members across several years.
Perform in community events such as:
To support the current high school band program:
Of note is the plight of the current high school band program. The program had been cancelled in 2009. The program was brought back a couple of years later. But to the current day, the school has not been able to field a marching band. The neighborhood demographics have changed and most current students do not have the means to buy or rent instruments, take lessons, or participate in band trips.
If you are interested in participating in the alumni band a registration form is available at the following link: Alumni Band Registration Form.
If you have any questions, you may contact Amanda Reynolds Alumni Band Coordinator.
