The Sheridan Historical Society is an official sponsor of:

The was not sufficient participation to continue the alumni band and it was discontinued in 2022.

Several alumni expressed an interest in forming an alumni band in 2019. A alumni band organizing group was established late that year and met monthly until Covid hit in March, 2020. The band started back up in June, 2021 and gave their first performance at the Alumni All Class Picnic on August 1, 2021. The high school is providing rehearsal space in their band room. Instruments are also being provided to those alumni that do not have their own. Directing the band is current high school teacher and band director Jennifer Norville.

The purpose of the band is to:

Provide an opportunity for to alumni to network with former band members across several years.

Perform in community events such as:

To support the current high school band program:

Of note is the plight of the current high school band program. The program had been cancelled in 2009. The program was brought back a couple of years later. But to the current day, the school has not been able to field a marching band. The neighborhood demographics have changed and most current students do not have the means to buy or rent instruments, take lessons, or participate in band trips.

If you are interested in the Alumni Band, please contact Alumni Band Coordinator.
